Rogers (Cherokee), Edgar Heap of Birds (Cheyenne and Arapaho Nation), Shanna Ketchum-Heap of Birds, Ph.D. (Diné/Navajo), Sean Teuton, Ph.D. (Cherokee), and Ashley Holland, Ph.D. (Cherokee) discuss existing public memorial projects commemorating the Trail of Tears, and how our region might choose to honor its living memory moving forward. This event is followed by a catered lunch at 1 p.m. to allow for informal discussion and community building.
